Case study: Churchill Group – Embedding wellbeing across a dispersed workforce

About Churchill Group

Churchill Group is an employee-owned facilities management company specialising in soft services. With around 15,000–16,000 colleagues across the UK, the business delivers cleaning, transport, security, social housing and grounds maintenance, window cleaning, environmental and guest services.

As a fast-paced, service-driven organisation with teams spread widely across client sites, Churchill faces the challenge of engaging colleagues in roles as varied as skyscraper window cleaners, transport operatives and social housing staff.

The challenge

Prior to partnering with SuperWellness, Churchill’s wellbeing activity was fragmented. While some teams created strong initiatives locally, there was no consistent, centralised wellbeing strategy.

“Our colleagues are dispersed across the UK—sometimes literally in a field or up a skyscraper. Engaging directly was a real challenge. Without a centralised approach, wellbeing activity was patchy: some divisions thrived, while others missed out.”

Why SuperWellness?

Churchill needed a partner who could deliver flexibility, inclusivity and practicality—adapting to the unique challenges of a dispersed workforce.

SuperWellness stood out with:

  • A flexible, build-your-own package tailored to different teams and sites.
  • A centralised wellbeing platform with high-quality, ready-made content.
  • Personalised support from a dedicated team, creating a true partnership rather than a one-size-fits-all service.

“What sets SuperWellness apart is the tailored support. It’s not just off-the-shelf—it’s genuinely personalised to our goals and workforce needs. It feels like a partnership.”

Solutions delivered

Churchill has adopted a multi-layered approach, making use of:

  • Wellbeing Insiders platform – a central hub for champions with toolkits, monthly themes and ready-made resources.
  • Live webinars – creating shared learning moments across teams.
  • CPD training – building confidence and structured knowledge among leaders and champions.
  • Wellbeing leadership development – supporting Lynzie and others with strategy, confidence and leadership presence.

Personal impact

For Lynzie, SuperWellness has been more than a service provider: it has acted as an extension of her leadership toolkit.

“Working with SuperWellness has been a cornerstone of my journey. They’ve given me the structure, confidence and validation to grow as a leader. The Wellbeing Leadership training, and now the Level 5 Diploma, have been game-changers. I truly see them as an extension of my team.”

This support has contributed to significant personal recognition: Lynzie was named in the Workplace Leaders Top 50 Class of 2025.

Organisational outcomes

Since embedding SuperWellness, Churchill has seen:

  • Stronger engagement scores in colleague opinion surveys, especially around wellbeing and feeling supported.
  • Higher involvement in champion forums, with colleagues inspired to lead conversations.
  • Greater inclusivity across physical, mental, emotional and financial wellbeing.
  • Improved planning—activities scheduled further in advance, reducing pressure and increasing participation.

“SuperWellness has helped wellbeing feel less like ‘another thing to do’ and more like an integrated, meaningful part of our culture.”

Lessons learned

According to Lynzie, the most effective wellbeing initiatives are:

  • Inclusive and embedded into culture.
  • Consistent and flexible.
  • Shaped by colleagues rather than imposed.

In contrast, one-off events, poor communication or lack of leadership buy-in often fall short.

The role of Wellbeing Insiders

The Wellbeing Insiders platform has been instrumental in strengthening Churchill’s Mosaic champion network. It provides resources, training and toolkits to ensure champions are:

  • Confident in leading conversations.
  • Consistently aligned with the wider strategy.
  • Supported, connected and motivated across a dispersed workforce.

“The platform has been a game-changer in scaling and sustaining our champion network, turning wellbeing from an individual passion into a collective movement.”

Why ongoing partnership matters

For Churchill, a long-term partnership with SuperWellness provides continuity, trust and impact. It allows the organisation to:

  • Embed wellbeing into culture.
  • Plan strategically, not reactively.
  • Build lasting momentum and behaviour change.
  • Measure and refine approaches over time.

“I’d be lost without Hayley and Elliot. The relationship and trust we’ve built makes SuperWellness feel like part of our internal team.”

Looking ahead

As Churchill’s wellbeing strategy matures, Lynzie envisions an even deeper collaboration:

  • More data-driven and targeted initiatives.
  • Advanced planning and measurement.
  • Continued tailored support and flexibility.
  • A true strategic partnership to embed wellbeing into the organisation’s DNA.

Key takeaway:
Churchill Group’s partnership with SuperWellness has transformed wellbeing from isolated efforts into a strategic, inclusive and sustainable movement—empowering both leaders and colleagues, and embedding wellbeing at the heart of organisational culture.
