About This Research Briefing

A lot of organisations invest in workplace wellbeing without seeing a clear return. Outcomes are notoriously hard to measure — partly because there’s a lack of clarity on what good looks like from the start.

Over the past seven months, we’ve gone directly to the people who hold the budget and carry the accountability for wellbeing: senior leaders across sectors, from SMEs to global organisations. Twelve in-depth interviews have already surfaced a picture of workplace wellbeing that’s more complicated — and more nuanced — than the conventional narrative allows. A large-scale quantitative study forms the second phase of this research.

On this briefing, we’ll present the findings from both the qualitative and quantitative phases of this research, alongside the practical implications for how organisations should actually be approaching wellbeing — not the theoretical version, but the one the evidence supports.
