Water is an essential component of life and one without which humans could not exist. Our body relies a on supply of this precious liquid to help boost our energy levels, brain activity and skin elasticity amongst other things.
The British Nutrition Foundation advises us to drink a minimum 8 – 10 glasses of water per day, however many struggle to reach this [1]. Does this sound familiar? Do you find drinking water unappealing and hard work? Here’s a tip for you:
Try infused waters!
They are simple and quick to make, so drinking water becomes more tasty and fun. You can use any herbs or sliced fruit to infuse water.
In my recipe I use only 3 simple ingredients.
Ingredients:
Filtered water
1 unwaxed lemon
½ cucumber
A few sprigs of Mint
Ice (optional)
Slice lemon and cucumber thinly and place 2 – 3 pieces of each into a glass. Tear fresh mint leaves with your fingers and add them to the lemon and cucumber slices. Fill the glasses up with filtered water and add ice for extra coolness. Stir and enjoy!
TIP: For staying hydrated at work keep a bottle of infused water on your desk and sip it regularly.
