Supporting FareShare’s mission

I’m proud to announce our new partnership with FareShare, the charity on a mission to fight hunger and tackle food waste. As part of our commitment, we’ll be donating 10% of subscription sales of our Monthly Plan – a new solution for employers to promote healthy eating for their whole workforce cost-effectively.

The shocking statistic is that 1 in 8 people go hungry in the UK today, and yet perfectly good food is wasted every day. When I met with the fantastic team at FareShare and visited the charity’s warehouse in London, I learnt that in spite of all the recent headlines, we’re still only scratching the surface when it comes to reducing food waste, with only 6% being redistributed currently.

FareShare has set up a UK-wide infrastructure to redistribute the food surplus in the supply chain to charities that then turn it into meals. And it has been doing this for 24 years!

It’s a smart approach which leverages one big problem to resolve another. It got me thinking: what if we could leverage what we do to help FareShare’s mission too?

We believe that every employee should have access to the knowledge and environment which support healthy eating. Nutrition plays a huge part in physical and mental health, so the idea that 8.4 million people in the UK are struggling to afford to even put a meal on the table seems unacceptable.

I hope that by donating a share of our Monthly Plan subscription sales, we can help make a difference to this in some way too.
